The International Labor Rights Forum and Sweatfree Communities were part of the host coalition for the Remember the Triangle Fire Centennial in March. They designed collectors-item international solidarity T-shirts to educate about the Triangle Fire and to help spread the message that worker deaths in garment industry fires are not only a concern of the past.

We love their T-shirt design, which features US labor activists from 100 years ago next to current Bangladeshi labor activists. We also loved the solidarity they showed by purchasing union made T-shirts. The purple women’s cut shirts were sewn by UFCW workers in Chicago, IL. The black unisex cut shirts were manufactured in the Dominican Republic by the unionized, living wage Alta Gracia factory.
And all the tees were union printed!

Solidarity with Bangladesh: Tell Walmart to Stand for Worker Rights!
As part of their ongoing campaigns to support workers everywhere, ILRF/Sweatfree Communities are calling on Walmart to take a stand for workers in Bangladesh.
In the last several months, threats to the lives of peaceful labor activists have increased. These leaders are calling for basic human rights like access to decent working conditions and fair wages.
The false charges brought against them by subcontractors for Walmart and other retailers are unacceptable. Instead of quietly watching sweatshop abuses – including fires that claimed many lives in recent years in factories very similar to those supplying Walmart – Walmart needs to take action.
You can take action today to encourage justice for Walmart’s subcontracted workers!
Already nearly 100,000 people signed the Change.org petition to Walmart executives. These petitions were delivered recently to CEO Mike Duke at a shareholder meeting by Bangladeshi activists. Join them until Walmart does the right thing!
