Malala Day at the United Nations
Miss. Yousafzai, the Pakistani teenager shot by the Taliban on her way to school, came to the UN with hundreds of youth and education advocates to call for action on reaching the goal of all children, especially girls, to be in school and learning by 2015.
Promotional Products to Empower Students and Workers
Above are @aworldatschool Vines featuring their order of custom #MalalaDay USA and Union Made: pens, notebooks, drawstring backpacks, stickers, and water bottles.
Branded promotional items (such as these volunteer tees- right) helped designate volunteers while Malala and The Global Business Coalition for Education visited the UN. Their union made in the USA products helped to direct internet traffic for those looking for more information and to sign the petition to support the end to the Education Emergency (57 million children out of school around the world). Pictured on the right here you see their order of locally made safety green T-shirts on Global Education First advocate-volunteers (shared via BBC News).
UN’s Global Education First Initiative
The Global Business Coalition for Education and Malala were there to support and discuss the UN’s Secretary-General’s Initiative:
In order to renew and reinvigorate global commitments to education, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has launched the Global Education First Initiative to put every child in school, improve the quality of learning, and foster global citizenship.
