Year in Review: The Best Tees of 2022

This year things started to come alive again as many organizations returned to the office, rallies and public events roared back, workers from several organizations went on strike, and everyone was hitting the streets using their collective voice. We dubbed this summer the summer of the t-shirt because everywhere we turned, the shirts were out doing what they do best – unifying your organization. The photos came rolling in, seas of red or blue or purple tees, catchy slogans, colorful designs, and most importantly, everyone getting their message out.

In celebration of the reemergence and to honor our inspirational clients, here are the best t-shirt photos of the year.

Please note: Many of these t-shirts are available for purchase! Please reach out to us or the organization to find out how to buy one.

CLEAN Carwash Worker Center

Carwasherxs have been working hard advocating for stolen wage recovery and supporting other worker groups at local strikes. They have recovered hundreds of thousands of dollars in stolen wages this year.

Workers Circle

The Workers Circle is known for backing up their words about justice with direct action for justice, from marching in the Queer Liberation March in NYC to engaging in civil disobedience to demand federal voting rights legislation to protesting for immigrant and worker rights, with the defiant cry from the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, “Mir Zaynen Do!/We Are Here!,” blazed across the back of their Ethix t-shirts.

Food Chain Workers Alliance

The “More Churros, Fewer Cops” tees, designed by Aaron Hughes, support the Street Vendor Project to prevent the harassment of street vendors by the NYPD.

APFA

APFA has been hard at work to represent their members and fight for better working conditions. They rallied at American Airlines hub airports across the country in November.

Jews for Racial and Economic Justice

The “TERFs are TREYF” tee is a huge hit. JFREJ, an NYC advocacy group, donates the funds from t-shirt sales to the New York Transgender Advocacy Group.

Jobs With Justice North Bay

Jobs With Justice members model their new union printed t-shirts at their Voices from the Frontlines / Cuentos del Campo event in Santa Rosa, CA.

IBEW 1245

More than 100 IBEW organizers and staff members went to the California State Capitol to show support for the Climate Package and Diablo Canyon, where many members are employed. They came with a unified message in their “Power is our business, union is our choice” t-shirts.

Immokalee Workers

These youngsters came out to support farmworkers at the March to End Modern Slavery in the Fields in their eggplant USA Made t-shirts.

Garment Worker Center

Garment Worker Center members rallied to support the Heat Illness Prevention and Fatality Act in their bright red union printed tees.

CEPA

Catholic Ethical Purchasing Alliance coordinator, Grace Adams, shows off the newest ethical merchandise at the Xavier University bookstore. Grace’s CEPA shirt is made at a worker-owned cooperative and dyed and printed with sustainable inks.

John Carroll University

These tees are featured in the JCU bookstore. They are made with cotton grown in the Carolinas, knit, woven, cut, and sewn in the USA, and dyed and printed with low environmental impact dye and print. JCU has long advocated for ethically-sourced products, and we are proud to have tees in the official campus store.

North Bay Organizing Project

North Bay Organizing Project members canvas door-to-door in their union printed tees ahead of the 2022 mid-term election.
